NIRIKHYANA – Empowering Safe Motherhood Through Digital Care

The Nirikhyana Initiative is a district-level maternal health program in Puri that ensures mothers receive complete, timely, and accessible care during pregnancy. It combines technology, community health workers, and partnerships with diagnostic centres to provide free ultrasound scans, structured pregnancy tracking, and regular follow-ups. The program pays special attention to high-risk pregnancies, making sure mothers get extra care when needed. By using digital tools, Nirikhyana allows health workers and families to monitor a mother's health in real time, reducing risks and improving outcomes for both mothers and newborns.

This initiative is especially important for women in rural and hard-to-reach areas, where distance, cost, and lack of services often prevent them from getting proper care.
